Ryan was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene Idaho, and grew up fly fishing the Coeur d’Alene, St. Joe and Clark Fork rivers. After high school, he attended the University of Idaho where he majored in Business. During his college years, he spent four summers guiding the Talachulitna River in South Central Alaska where anglers from around the world targeted all five species of pacific salmon, rainbow trout, greyling and dolly varden.
He started guiding the St. Joe and Coeur d’Alene rivers in 2011, and is still at it today. He feels fortunate enough to fly fish for a wide variety of species in different parts of the world, but still finds it hard to beat the home rivers. When not working, he likes to spend time hunting, fishing and recreating here in the beautiful Northwest.
