Looking for an unforgettable fly fishing experience on one of the most renowned blue-ribbon cutthroat trout rivers in the Pacific Northwest? Look no further than our guided multi-day fishing trip on the St. Joe River in Idaho!

Experience the St. Joe River the way it was meant to be — long days on the water, evenings around camp, and quiet mornings deep in the heart of North Idaho.

Our overnight trips combine professionally guided fly fishing with rustic riverside accommodations, gourmet meals, and an authentic outfitter camp atmosphere. These trips are designed for anglers looking to slow down, unplug, and immerse themselves in one of the West’s last wild freestone fisheries.

Guests stay in historic dry cabins located near the river. The cabins are simple, comfortable, and full of character — offering a classic North Idaho camp experience. While the cabins do not have running water, guests have access to nearby men’s and women’s shower and bathroom facilities.

Whether you are looking for a quick overnight getaway or a multi-day fishing adventure, our overnight experiences offer the opportunity to spend more time on the water and less time driving, coordinating meals, or worrying about logistics.

Spring Creek Cabins

We operate out of a riverfront camp on the St Joe River with historic dry cabins for our guests to stay in. These cabins have been on the Joe housing hunters, anglers, and outdoorsman for the last 100 years!

The cabins have electricity and wifi available. Each cabin has 2 beds, a small desk and a couple of chairs, as well as a small dining table, fridge and coffee pot. There is no running water in the cabins, however there is a nearby shower house with separate men's and women's bathrooms with 2 toilets and 2 showers.

The property has beach access to enjoy the river while at camp, as well as a fire pit to use for campfires. There are no close neighbors around so it is a very private and quiet place, however we are right off of the highway so we do get a bit of highway noise.

Arrival Day

Guests may choose to fish on their arrival day or simply enjoy an evening at camp.

If Fishing on Arrival Day

Meet your guide at the Calder Boat Ramp between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM (exact meeting time will be confirmed prior to your trip). After a brief introduction, you'll travel to the day's launch site and begin your float.

Expect a full day on the water with incredible scenery, opportunities to spot wildlife, and excellent fly fishing. Lunch will be served riverside during the day.

At the conclusion of your float, your guide will return you to your vehicle and lead you back to camp for the evening.

If Not Fishing on Arrival Day

Check-in at camp begins at 3:00 PM. Spend the afternoon settling into your cabin, exploring the property, relaxing by the river, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

That evening, enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by your guides followed by time around the campfire under the stars.

Your Stay at Camp

Each evening includes comfortable cabin accommodations, great food, and the opportunity to unwind after a day on the water. Whether swapping fishing stories around the fire, enjoying a quiet evening by the river, or preparing for the next day's adventure, camp is designed to be a relaxing part of the experience.

Fishing Days

Coffee is available at 6:30 AM, followed by breakfast at 7:00 AM.

After breakfast, you'll meet your guide and head to the river for a full day of fly fishing. Typical float trips last 7–9 hours and include a riverside lunch.

Depending on river section, water conditions, and fishing opportunities, guests can expect to be off the water between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Departure Day

Guests fishing on their departure day will enjoy breakfast before heading to the river for their final day of fishing.

Guests not fishing on departure day should plan to check out by 11:00 AM unless prior arrangements have been made.

We recommend packing all personal belongings before heading out for your final day on the water.

At the end of your trip, say your goodbyes, exchange a few fish stories, and start planning your next St. Joe adventure.

      Open tab

      Day Trip Cancellations

Final payment is due 30 days before the date or your trip.

Reservations made 30 days or less before selected date required the full payment at time of booking to confirm your date.

      All deposits are non-refundable.

If the trip is cancelled within 30 days of your date, you must pay for your trip.

      Day Trip Reschedule

If you need to reschedule your trip, please contact White Pine Outfitters by phone (208-883-3900) or email (info@whitepine-outfitters.com) as soon as possible to ensure a date is available.

White Pine Outfitters may assess a $150 fee for rescheduling.

Any cancellations made less than 30 days of your scheduled arrival, or you do not show on the day of your trip will result in forfeiture of the full payment.

      Multi-Day Trip Cancellations

If you find it necessary to cancel your trip please notify us as soon as possible. All deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel your trip more than 120 days prior to your departure date we will retain your deposit and credit it toward a future trip with White Pine Outfitters. If you cancel 120 day or less but more than 60 days prior to your launch date you must pay 50% of the trip price. If you cancel within 60 days of your trip departure, you must pay the full trip price. This cancellation policy applies per person. We regret we cannot make exceptions for personal emergencies. Because of this, we strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation and travel insurance (see Travel Insurance below).

Travel Insurance / Life Flight Insurance

Your pre-trip package will provide more information on the rigors of the trip you have chosen. Even though we make every effort to insure a safe trip for everyone, we strongly recommend that you protect yourself, your belongings, and your vacation by purchasing a traveler’s insurance policy. Should you have to cancel your trip at the last minute due to illness or injury, a trip cancellation policy will cover your non-refundable payments in most cases.

If you become ill or injured while on a river trip, evacuation may be prolonged, difficult and expensive. Many trip insurance policies cover such events. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance you will be asked to sign a waiver. Baggage and cameras are carried entirely at the owner’s risk, and White Pine Outfitters Inc. accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, or delayed property. We recommend G1G Travel Insurance.

As we are adventuring in a location that is remote and can be difficult to evacuate. In addition, the hospitals in our area can be fairly limited, meaning some medical conditions may require flight to another hospital. We are members of and highly recommend the reasonably priced helicopter insurance provided by Life Flight.
