4 April 2021 St. Joe River Fishing Report

Water Temperature: 44 degrees

Flows: 3200 cfs

Weather: overcast w/ front moving in

Fishing:
River was on the rise fished Sat and Sunday.  I had to work harder to find fish on Sunday.  Some of the runs we fished on Saturday were no longer fishing due to spike in flows.  A few fish feeding off boil lines formed from points with rhythm those fish were worth while targeting with a dry.  One of my guides Mike was up with some friends they had good success on streamers.  Fishing picked up later in the day.  We should see more Skwala's over the coming weeks!  Now is a good time to get out!!!  This week looks real good with flows dropping later in the week.  That being said what works one day will not always work the next fish.  Runs, and flows change.  Keep that in mind as you are out fishing this spring with all the variable flows.

Hot Flies:

Pat's rubber leg size 8,12 Olive Chubby size 8-10 wire worm, size 10 prince nymph, squirmy wormy w/ bead, jan juan worm pink or red size 10.  Copper John size 10-12 black and red, Skwala.
