Tyler Nash is a Northern Coloradoan, who escaped to Moscow and fell in love with the area and people. In an attempt to stay and support the community he loves, he decided to open a store in downtown based on what he knows best…. PLAYING!!!
Tyler has enjoyed fishing from the time he was a little fry… never giving up fishing from the dock with his Snoopy rod… later spending endless hours in Laramie Lakes (WY), Grey Reef on the North Platte (WY), the North Fork of the Cache La Poudre (CO) and Glendo Reservoir (WY). Between ice, fly, and lake fishing there was always something to do! Now he is kind of grown up, the sport remains an integral part of his life. Tyler has guided big game hunting, fishing, and white water rafting in Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. Additionally, he has spent many a night in the Idaho wilderness conducting fish and bug surveys for Idaho DEQ. While getting his Environmental Science degree from University of Idaho he worked in a lab to count the collected bugs for water quality analysis. When he isn’t playing and working, he researches reliable gear for playing and work…
He has climbed, skied, fished, climbed, backpacked, boated, hunted (mushrooms, huckleberries, and delicious animals), and explored the western U.S., but continue to feel at home and love the fun here in Moscow. From the Salmon to the Ronde; the Clearwater to the Coeur d’Alene, the St. Joe to the Snake, he loves to play in Idaho waters to see if he can trick a fish or two and have an adventure.
Thus, White Pine Gear Exchange and Fly Shop was born… and we hope to share our passion of play and the Idaho outdoors with the Moscow community!
HATCH (HATCHEY POO BANANAS) is an easily startled yellow dog from Tonasket... His favorite things are licking fish, walking his brother and snuggles from various friends and fans who visit him.
