27 August 2026 - St. Joe River Fishing Report

Location: Lower St Joe, Avery down

Water Condition: 354 cfs

Fishing Techniques: Hopper Dropper, Dry Fly

Hatches: Caddis, Ants/Beetles, Grasshoppers, PMDs

Report: On the St. Joe, fish are biting intermittently throughout the day. Fishing is best in the mornings and evenings at cooler temperatures.

Hopper-dropper rigs have been the most productive fishing technique, and small dries like ants. Patterns that have been good are foam hoppers, like Cloud 9, and small ants.

The water has been an average of 65°-66°. In addition, the cooler evenings have been helping the fishing during the day. Please keep in mind to monitor water temperature; warmer water temps can stress out the fish.
